Bipartisan Approach

Carlos works with both Democrats and Republicans

Representative Curbelo is the co-founder of the growing bipartisan House Climate Solutions Caucus that is discussing paths forward to reduce carbon emissions and address climate change and sea level rise. He won the John F Kennedy New Frontiers Award for his leadership of the Bipartisan Climate Caucus.

Carlos doesn’t just talk. The bills he has either co-sponsored or led to increase funding for the Department of Energy’s ARPA-E advanced energy effort, and another of his bills that passed this February, increase federal incentives for carbon capture technologies, earning broad and bipartisan support.

Representative Curbelo also works with his colleagues on both sides of the aisle to protect his district’s greatest natural treasures, including the Everglades, Biscayne National Park and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. That’s why he fought hard and secured $10 million in funding for Everglades restoration.

Carlos was also a leading voice in the bipartisan opposition to the White House’s proposal to open up offshore drilling in Florida.

The people of Florida and its leaders have made it clear over and over again: We do not want drilling near our shores, we do not want to put our beautiful beaches and environmental treasures at risk. We simply have too much to lose.” – Carlos Curbelo

He continues Florida’s bipartisan tradition of balancing environmental and economic needs. Carlos approaches all issues with an open mind, letting the facts tell the story. He firmly believes we don’t have to choose between the economy and the environment, but that the two can work together.

I’ve been a resident of South Florida my entire life and have personally seen the negative effects of climate change, like rising sea levels and flooded streets. It was important for us to create this bipartisan caucus to work towards solutions to address this legitimate threat.” – Carlos Curbelo

ClearPath Supports Carlos Curbelo

I’m Jay Faison, founder of ClearPath Action Fund, a clean energy organization and we support Carlos Curbelo because he gets things done. I’ve never seen such a hard-working congressman do so much for clean energy and the environment in just two years. Carlos cares.

He knows how our actions impact the generations of tomorrow, so he finds clean energy solutions today. He has the courage to fight through Washington gridlock because he believes it’s the right thing to do. Carlos is a true clean energy champion for South Florida and for America.
