Dean works with both Democrats and RepublicansDean knows a state with immense renewable energy potential such as Nevada must utilize energy storage technologies that are critical to the affordability, efficiency and reliability of our electrical grid. That’s why he introduced the bipartisan Energy Storage Tax Incentive and Deployment Act of 2017, to establish investment tax credit for business and home use of energy storage.
The bipartisan Energy Storage Tax Incentive and Deployment Act will help attract investment to Nevada and allow our constituents to see real savings in their monthly bills.” – Dean Heller
It’s just one of the positive bipartisan actions he has taken as an influential member of the Senate, including as Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee’s Subcommittee on Energy, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure.
Dean also works with his colleagues on both sides of the aisle to promote renewable energy initiatives. He was part of a bipartisan group of senators that re-introduced legislation to streamline permitting for renewable energy projects on public lands (S. 282). He has also worked across the aisle to extend tax incentives for solar, wind, geothermal and other renewable energy projects central to Nevada’s economy and environment.
Protecting the environment is an important area where Dean has worked with Democrats. That includes a bipartisan plan to make permanent a tax deduction for charitable contributions for conservation protection. Separately, he successfully pushed a bipartisan plan to create the Pine Forest Range Wilderness Area, which was signed into law early in Dean’s Senate tenure.
I am one of the most outspoken Republicans in Congress advocating for policies that make our nation’s energy cleaner and more affordable.” – Dean Heller
ClearPath Supports Dean Heller
I’m Jay Faison, founder of ClearPath Action Fund, a clean energy organization and we support Dean Heller because he gets things done. I’ve never seen such a hard-working congressman do so much for clean energy and the environment in just two years. Dean cares.
He knows how our actions impact the generations of tomorrow, so he finds clean energy solutions today. He has the courage to fight through Washington gridlock because he believes it’s the right thing to do. Dean is a true clean energy champion for Nevada and for America.
